Susan Kempf, Director of Junior Achievement of Black Hawk Land, spoke about Junior Achievement's mission and goals in working with primary and secondary school students locally.

Phil Jordan, Cooperative Education Coordinator at the University of Northern Iowa, shared information on UNI Student Co-op & Internship Programs.

Speaker Ruben Carrion, Director of Student Life at Hawkeye Community College, presented the topic of "Diversity in the Workplace"

"Bricks & Mortar of Leadership" was the topic shared by Vanessa Goodwin, Chemical Engineer & Plant Shift  Supervisor at Cargill Corn Milling in Cedar Rapids.

Laura Ford, owner of New Avenues, Inc. in Davenport, gave a presentation on
Employee Handbooks.  Ford is a member of the SHRM Speaker's Bureau.

The local Iowa Workforce Development office hosted this breakfast meeting which offered participants hands-on experience in the office's Computerized Resource Center.

A Drug Testing Update was provided members by Sharon Puls, Western Home. Thanks to the Western Home for hosting this morning meeting.

Iowa State SHRM Council Technology Director & CVSHRM Member, Celina Peerman, shared information on how HR professionals are using the web. Thanks to GMAC Mortgage for hosting the August CVSHRM meeting.
